 As I mentioned earlier, not all hiragana characters have a direct correlation to a particular kanji, but here are some hiragana characters that do have kanji origins:


- あ (a) is believed to be derived from the kanji 安 (an), which means "peaceful" or "calm".

- い (i) is believed to be derived from the kanji 以 (i), which means "to use" or "compared to".

- う (u) is believed to be derived from the kanji 宇 (u), which means "outer space" or "universe".
